Half way there!

18 Feb

It is officially Wednesday, which means only 2 more days until the weekend! Is that bad that I am looking forward to it already? I am really just looking forward to sleeping past 4:45a I think. Anyways, in my post yesterday I was talking about how my cold medicine makes me stay awake, so I decided to test this! I went to Walgreen’s last night in my pj’s and got a different kind of cold medicine. I usually take Tylenol night-time cold but I opted for NyQuil this time around. And guess what happened?!?!?! I slept through the night! When I woke up to go to the bathroom, I could go right back to bed when I was done. It was wonderful! Take that Tylenol!!!!!!

Anyways, I slept great last night, so good that I didn’t want to get out of bed…. oh well, onto the food. So last night, Gregg and I had a few errands to run so we just picked up Subway for dinner. I got the Ham and Turkey on wheat and loaded it with veggies. I also had an apple and some Baked Kettle Brand Chips. Total pts for dinner: 8.

p1020335

After dinner I snacked on some lemon merignues for 1 pt and had a mini fruit tart for dessert, I am not sure how many pts this was because we got it from a bakery, so I tried to find and approximate value, so I came up with 7pts.

p1020336

I just noticed how crazy that picture looks…. almost fake! But I assure you it is the real picture. And for breakfast this morning, I made an egg wrap with a smart and delicious wrap with 1/2 cup of egg beaters, red pepper a little bit of low fat cheese and an apple on the side all for a 4 pt breakfast! (Sorry, no pic) And for my lunch today, I packed up the other half of my subway sammy, come on I had to get the foot long! It was like a guaranteed lunch for today! I also packed up some carrots, yogurt and a pear for a 7 pt lunch.

p1020339

But, that is all I have for now enjoy the rest of your day :)

TIP OF THE DAY:

Choose whole grains whenever possible. The fiber from the whole grains will make you more satisfied and keep you full longer.

Friday fun and weekend plans part 2

6 Feb

Good Afternoon Everyone! I hope your Fridays are going by as fast as mine is today! Granted, I have a half day on Fridays so the workday isn’t too long, I have been one busy buy this afternoon. I finally gave in a took our clothes to the cleaners and washed pretty much everything. It is so much faster to take it there than to do one load at a time here. but, when I got home today, I had carrots and hummus with a taco salad made with fat free refried beans, lettuce, salsa, sour cream and tomatoes. I also had a promax bar and a few mike n ikes while washing our clothes.

p1020255

Now, I am about to put all of our clothes away and then wait for Gregg to get home. We are going to Panera for dinner tonight and then off to the coffee house, for sure this time! This weekend is going to be a me and Gregg weekend and I am really excited about it. We already have dinner plans for just the two of us tomorrow and I believe a movie night is in the works too! Have a good afternoon and we will see you later :)

Cranberry Yogurt… What a Brilliant Idea!

4 Feb

Good Morning Everyone! My morning is starting off pretty good this morning, even though I didn’t get near as much sleep as the night before. Maybe it’s because I had such a lazy night last night, who knows! Speaking of last night, let’s get to the goods. I was on my own for dinner last night because Gregg went to hang out with some friends, which was fine by me! It was my usual 90210 night, so I was excited that I got to watch it without any interruptions. For dinner, I made myself some broccoli, tofu noodles with an Alfredo sauce and some toasted bread, total pts: 3.

p1020219

I love making this dinner, Gregg hates these noodles, so I always buy a few for the nights he is away and it’s a fend for yourself kind of night. While I was watching 90210, I snacked on some popcorn….maybe snacked is a bit of an understatement, I ate about 8 cups! The crazy part of it is, that was only 2 pts. I also ate half of a piece of my cranberry bread, total pts:1.

p1020223

Then, after 90210 and a few episodes of Friends, I had some of my Samoa ice cream, total pts: 3.5. I am telling you, this really is addicting! My total pts for the day was 24.

p1020224

This morning, threw some cranberries in a bowl and microwaved for about 35 seconds until they popped and the juices came out. Then, I added 1/2 cup of fat free vanilla yogurt. I mixed this with 1 tsp of oil, puffins and high fiber cereal. This is an awesome combo! (I am currently eating it!) The sweetness of the yogurt pairs really well with the tartness of the cranberries. I think I may have a million dollar idea here! Total pts: 3.

p1020226

And, for my lunch today, I packed up a turkey sammy made on a white bun with lettuce, chipotle mayo and chipotle cheese, a fig bar, 1 cup of pineapple and 1 orange. Total pts: 6.

p1020225

After listening to some of your feedback on what you would like to see on the blog, I will be adding some type of tip of the day, whether it be on exercising, wellness or eating well, you’ll get one every day! So, let me introduce the tip of the day:

Tip of the Day:

Drink lots of water, water acts as a natural diuretic. It will help flush out your system of toxins. The daily recommendation is 6-8 (8 ounce) glasses per day, so get drinking!

Time to Catch up!

29 Jan

So without boring you with every little detail, I am just going to sum it all up for you. Here’s what I ate the past few days:

Starting at the top, on Monday, I had a baked potato for dinner and a ww peanut butter bliss bar for dessert. On Tuesday, I had oatmeal for breakfast and I actually packed up my lunch for the seminar because they always seem to have fried chicken! So, I packed up some soup and an open faced peanut butter and pumpkin butter Arnold thin sammie. When I got home, I cut up 2 carrots to have for a snack and made taco salads for dinner. I actually used a flatout wrap for the bowl and just baked it. This is defiantly something I will be doing again, it turned out perfect! And to top my day off, I had little chocolate meringues for dessert.

On Wednesday, I had cereal and yogurt for breakfast (which I brought to work). For lunch, I ended up going to Panera because I forgot the lunch I packed again! I just had the Classic Cafe salad with fat free raspberry dressing and a sourdough roll on the side. For dinner, I mad an awesome Cajun rub and put it on some chicken breast, grilled them, and had them on a bun with Cajun mayo that I made. I also had some potatoes  and a salad to go with. To top it all off, I had another ww peanut butter bliss bar.

Now, on to today! I made myself a bowl of Oatmeal (big surprise), but this time I mixed in a TON of cinnamon, almond milk and vanilla yogurt. I also had an apple to go with the oatmeal. I am hoping this will hold me over until lunch today, we shall wait and see considering I didn’t even eat it yet! And for lunch today was kind of easy, it’s the lunch I packed up for yesterday: salad, grapes, apple and a pear.

But, that is all I have for now, sorry it was kind of brief but I gotta head to work! Have a great day!!! :)

Seafood Thursday

22 Jan

Good morning everyone! I am sooo happy today is Thursday, that means only one more day of work left for the week!!! Also, so I was MIA yesterday, I had a lot of things to get done at work and didn’t end up getting home until late because I went and saw the new baby. His name is Hunter Alan and he is the cutest little baby ever! So, even though I didn’t blog yesterday doesn’t mean I didn’t take pics or eat, so here we go….

Tuesday night, Gregg and I had Binner. For this we had french toast, bacon, and fruit. Here is my portion, which came out to 5.5 points:

p1020114

After dinner, I watched 90210. All I can say is OMG why do they keep making me wait??? The next show isn’t on for another 2 weeks, they did this before, but only then they took a 4 week break… whatever! After my show, I had 2 scoops of my Egg nog Ice Cream, which came out to 5 points. My total point intake for the day ended up being 22! Not bad considering all the food I ate.

p1020119

Yesterday for breakfast, I made myself an egg sammy with whole wheat bread, egg beaters, peppers and mushrooms. On my way to work, I had a tall nonfat misto from Starbucks. Total pts: 3.

p1020121

I know this doesn’t look all that jazzy for lunch, but it was. I packed up some bread, tuna, an orange and some cottage cheese for a total of 5.5 pts.

p1020120

However, I had the munchies while at work, so I hit up the vending machine and had a rice krispy treat that was a whopping 4 pts! Seriously, what do you people put in that???? Oh well, I managed just fine the rest of the day. When I got to the hospital my niece Dakota gave me a few runts (the candy) and how do you turn down a 4 year old??? So I had about 5 and counted the .5 points for it. After the hospital, I ran to the grocery store and picked up some fruits and veggies. I also picked up a bag of frozen mixed veggies and made it for dinner last night along with some rice. I added some soy sauce to this and it ended up being 2.5 points. I love low point dinners!

p1020122

However, I was still kind of hungry, so I had an apple on the side.

p1020124

Then, for dessert, I had 3/4 c of puffins and a WW peanut butter cookie, total points: 2. My whole day ended up being 20 pts so it looks like I stayed within my point range for the day!

p10201271

I know you are probably tired of reading by now, but I am almost done, I promise! For breakfast this morning, I mixed 1 tbs of ff ricotta cheese with 1 tbs of pumpkin butter and tasted up a whole wheat bun and topped it with the mixture. I also had an apple on the side. Total points for breakfast: 4.

p1020128

For lunch today, I cut up some strawberries and added some blueberries and cranberries to a bowl and packed up 1/3 c of oats. I will be making oatmeal for lunch!!! I wanted to have a lighter lunch because Gregg wants to go to Red Lobster for dinner tonight to try something new and I have allotted 10 pts for that.

p1020125

But, that is all I have for now, have a great day! :)

LOTS of Pictures!

19 Jan

Good Morning Everyone! I have a ton to catch up so, I am going to jump right to it! I didn’t get a chance to post at all yesterday because we were really busy rearrangingour spare bedroom and deep cleaning some other rooms. So, I believe I last posted Saturday morning, so I will start there. For breakfast on Saturday, I had a bowl of cereal with yogurt and berries in it.

p1020083

And all mixed together:

p1020084

We had planned to go to a movie on Saturday afternoon so I decided to have a little snack so I could save room for the popcorn at the movie. I had some carrots and hummus to hold me over:

p1020085

But, we never ended up going to the movie, we opted to rent 2 movies and stay in that night. We rented Eagle Eye and Made of Honor. Gregg got to pick one and I got to pick one, can you guess which ones we picked???? :) After we picked up our movies, we stopped by Sendiks so I could pick up a few things for dinner. We also stopped at Circuit City to see all the sales since they are going out of business, but the sales weren’t that great yet. I had planned on possibly buying a new camera, but I opted not to because ALL SALES ARE FINAL. My luck, I would buy a new one and it wouldn’t work, so I decided to do some more research and to buy one later.  After that, I stopped at the Bread Smith to pick up some yummy bread for dinner too!

After all of our running around and we were finally home, I decided to bake a loaf of Cranberry-Pumpkin Bread.

p1020090

I LOVE this bread! It makes one loaf, which is perfect for me and it also makes 13 slices! Not to mention 2 pts per slice! Although if I could have gotten 14 slices out of it, the points would only be 1 pt per slice. This bread is SO moist and filling! I will post the recipe later!

After I was done baking my bread, I started on dinner right of way: Homemade Mac and Cheese!

p1020097

Here is my portion:

p1020098

Along with my mac and cheese, I had a side salad:

p10200991

A Tomato Basil Roll (I actually only had half of one):

p1020094

And, a glass of wine:

p1020100

After dinner, we watched our movies and I had dessert, which was a few slices of the cranberry bread:

p1020092

Then, on Sunday morning, Gregg and I headed out to grab some breakfast along with some coffee. We stopped at Caribou to get the coffee and then headed to Panera for breakfast. I got the blueberry Bagel:

p1020101

During our busy day, we stopped for lunch and I made Gregg and I a bowl of berry oats:

p10200711

We ended up having some leftovers for dinner. So, I had a grilled cheese, some mac and cheese, strawberries and carrots:

p1020102

I know this looks like a lot of food, but this is a small plate, so it’s not too much food. Then, last night for dessert, I had a bowl of puffins with yogurt and blueberries.

p1020104

Then, this morning I brought a bowl of pumpkin oats with me to make when I got to work. Also, it was someones birthday and they brought in cookies for everyone, and of course I had to have one because it was a Sugar Cookie and they are my favorite! I also had some almonds on the way to work, it was one of the 100 calorie pack of almonds. My breakfast was bigger than normal today but it is defiantly keeping me full. For lunch, I packed up some strawberries, a turkey sandwich, a snack-pack, some yogurt and an apple.

p1020105

There is a clif bar in the pic, but I opted to swap it out and replaced it with an apple. But, that is all I have for right now, I will be back later to post the recipes for the bread and the mac and cheese. Have a great day!

Laundry and Biking

10 Jan

Good Morning Everyone! Since I have been MIA the last few days, I am just gonna jump right into the goods! On Wednesday night, Gregg and I grilled up some lean pork loins on the George Foreman and had a side salad with it.

p1020030

For dessert on Wednesday, I had yet again some egg nog Ice cream. Seriously the best kind EVER!!!! Thursday morning, I packed up some oat meal with strawberries and truvia to go! I made this at work and it was like I was eating dessert for breakfast. No lie, it tasted just like strawberry shortcake.

p1020035

For lunch, I had originally packed my lunch, but because I am a bonehead, I forgot it and decided to go to Panera instead. I went with some of my co-workers and had black bean soup with a classic side salad with an apple and a little bit of someones bread bowl. I ended up saving the apple for later.

3163530904_9a25041c39

Thursday night was a wrap night! My wrap had turkey, spinach, lettuce and mustard. I paired it with some carrots and cheddar chex mix. I forgot how much I loved chex mix until now, be prepared to see it again!

p1020036

For dessert on Thursday, I decided to keep it light so I had an orange and some grapes.

p1020031

For breakfast on Friday, I stopped at starbucks and got a non fat misto and some of their perfect oatmeal, sorry no pic! But, for my lunch yesterday, it was crazy easy! It was the lunch I packed for Thursday and forgot. So, I had a salad, an orange and a cookie.

p1020032

I do not have a pic from dinner because we went to the Mongolian Grill again. I seriously love this place! My stir fry had shrimp, peas, broccoli, onions, pineapple, carrots, mushrooms and tofu. I had it with a little bit of rice and a side salad. Talk about getting your veggies in for the day!

And for today, I am sipping on a cup of coffee deciding what to have for breakfast. On my agenda for the day: Laundry, Biking and wedding planning with Emily (for her, not me!). I will be one busy chica all day! Talk to you soon! :)

Binner at it’s best!

7 Jan

Good morning everyone. Today, I am in a lot of pain and I have no idea why. I woke up at about 1:30a with this shooting pain in my back. So, I woke up, took some pain meds so I could actually sleep the next 4 hours. But, now the meds have worn off and it still hurts. It even hurt this morning when I sneezed. I hope it goes away soon and that it is just a sore muscle. If not, I may have to do the one thing I have always avoided…a massage. I know I am probably the only person who hates them, but I do. I don’t like the idea of someone I don’t know touching me. But, anyway, that’s my drama for today, now onto food!

Yesterday, we had Binner instead of dinner (aka breakfast for dinner). I mad a spinach, mushroom and green pepper mixture to have as the filling to my omelet.

p1020025

I filled my omelet with the mixture and placed some fat free cheese in the middle to complete the omelet. I also had a slice of turkey bacon and a western alternative cinnamon bagel. I did chop up an apple afterwards to snack on while I watched 90210 but I didn’t take a pic, we all know what an apple looks like.

p1020027

For dessert, I had about a cup of puffed cereal with 1/2 cup of fat free yogurt and weight watcher oatmeal raisin cookie.

p1020028

My breakfast this morning basically looked like my dessert. I had a cup of puffed cereal with 2/3 cup of Trader Joe’s Fruit and Nut cereal. I was going to have a piece of fruit too, but I wasn’t hungry after my bowl of cereal. I also stopped by Starbucks and got a Grande non-fat misto with NO flavoring!! Can you believe that, no syrup! Instead, I brought 1/2 a packet of truvia with me to take the edge off my coffee, worked like a champ!

p1020006

For my lunch, I packed up a HUGE salad. This salad has lettuce, spinach, celery, mushrooms, broccoli slaw, carrots and tomatoes. I also packed some dressing on the side and a Toasted Nuts n Cranberry Luna Bar. I think this will hold me over until dinner tonight which is going to be grilled pork!

p1020029

That’s all I have for now, have a great day! :)

Back on Track Monday!

5 Jan

Good morning Everyone! I hope your weekend was great. Mine was pretty good, I got to sleep in a little and we FINALLY went grocery shopping so now I actually have good food. On Friday night, Gregg and I had the salads that I built at Whole Foods with a cup of Minestrone soup.

p1010990

For dessert, I had the last of my Egg Nog ice cream. Or so I thought it was the last, I bought some from the store when we went that night too. Gregg and I go shopping really late at night so it’s not busy and that way we can usually get everything we need without having to push through people or dig through things, it just works better for us.

Saturday morning, I made myself a bowl of cranberry oats with truvia. I must say, the truvia is FAR better than splenda, no after taste of fake sugar and still no calories too!

p1010992

I had a pretty small lunch that consisted of an open faced peanut butter and jelly with an apple on the side. Gregg and I also went to Caribou to grab some coffee, but we were pretty busy with things that I didn’t snap a picture.

p1010995

And because we were so busy doing other things, Gregg went to Sendiks and picked up Sun-Dried tomato breaded chicken breasts. He also picked up some red potatoes so I could make my Garlic mashed potatoes. I also had a glass of White Wine with my dinner.

p1010996

For dessert, I had one of these Lemon Cookies that I made.

p1010914

I was in bed pretty early on Saturday, for some odd reason, I was really tired and couldn’t stay awake past 11! This is not normal for me to go to bed before 11 on a Saturday, so I consider it very early. When I woke up the next day (Sunday), I made myself an egg sandwich and had an orange on the side.

untitled

After my breakfast, my mom picked me up and we were off to shop a little. But, before we went shopping, we stopped and got one of these wonderful drinks from Starbucks:

p1010941

After all of our running around we had to do, I went back to my moms house with her. Gregg met me there later and we had dinner with my mom for her birthday. Her birthday is actually today, but we celebrated yesterday with a pretty tasty meal! My brother made breaded shrimp, steak, twice baked potatoes, garlic bread and a salad for dinner. I only had steak, salad and one piece of garlic bread. I only ate half of this piece of steak because I was way too full!

2267542122_9713db46b8

For dessert, I picked up an AWESOME cheesecake from Simma’s bakery. I didn’t take a picture, but thanks to the Simma’s website, you can get a pretty good idea of how it looked:

untitled3

The only difference was that instead of chocolate, it was white chocolate on top and there weren’t any strawberries on top either. But, the best part of this cheesecake is that it’s not only cheesecake. On the bottom, there is a small layer of chocolate cake with a small white chocolate cream filling, then a layer of cheesecake topped with a layer of white chocolate cream filling and raspberry filling all topped with a white chocolate frosting. TO DIE FOR!!!! I only had a tiny sliver because I know it’s not too good for me!

For breakfast thing morning, I made a bowl of puffed cereal and a cup of coffee using this new creamer I got:

p1020005

The verdict: Tasted almost exactly like the Cinnamon latte from Starbucks! For lunch I packed up a turkey sandwich, grapes, carrots with broccoli and a fiber one bar.

p1010999

That’s all I have for now, enjoy your day! :)

Christmas is in the Air!

11 Dec

Happy Thursday Everyone! I am in such a good mood this morning, and I don’t even know why, oh well, I’ll take it! Do you like the new layout? I think I am going to change it to be a little more Christmas like, but for now it will do. But, since I missed a regular post yesterday, I am going to get right into it. For Tuesdays eats, I am just going to post the pics since I told you all what I had yesterday! Here we go:

p10107571

p10107713

p10107731

p10107721

Now onto the good stuff! Dinner last night was an oldie but a goodie! Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese! But, I added some noodles to my tomato soup and a piece of turkey bacon to my grilled cheese! This totally hit the spot last night!

p1010779

p1010780

Then, for dessert last night, I had a cup of Diet Hot Chocolate and a Sugar cookie with frosting and sprinkles on it!

p1010785

Then, I may have went back for another cookie and a little piece of chocolate :) Me and my sweet tooth! Oh well!

This morning, I decided to have a blueberry bagel, cream cheese and a blueberry Chobani.

p1010786

I will end up eating my yogurt at work and I plan to stop and grab a nonfat sugar free vanilla misto from Starbucks on the way to work as well! For lunch this afternoon, I packed up some soup, leftover broccoli, another you bar and some grapes.

p1010787

I hope you all enjoyed my eats for the last few days! Now, onto the most exciting part ever! MY CHRISTMAS TREE!!!! Here it is, all decorated!!!

p1010758

(Sorry for the glare on the window, and wow, I need to wash that window!)

But, here is one of my favorite ornaments on the tree, just because it is so fun!

p1010760

We bought these last year, and we also have a green one, a pink one and a purple one that all have glittery polka dots on them just like this one!

And look who made an appearance on our tree:

p1010769

That’s right, Rudolf!!!! Him and his friends are on our tree, it’s Gregg’s touch! We have all of these nice pretty snowflakes, stars and colorful sparkly ornaments and the whole Rudolf Gang!!!! And somewhere on the tree is our Pickle!!!!! Can you find it?

Well, that’s all I have for now, enjoy your day!!!! :)
